Privacy policy

When you use ThatEventSite.com, we may collect:

• Information you submit voluntarily: when you submit an event, you provide an email address, event details, and (optionally) organizer information.
• Standard server logs: IP address, user-agent, requested URL, timestamps. Used to operate, secure, and debug the Service.
• Cookies / local storage: what is required for basic functionality, plus the cookies and local storage set by our product-analytics provider (see “Analytics” below). We do not use advertising cookies.

• Operate and improve the Service.
• Review and moderate user-submitted events.
• Contact submitters about their submissions if needed.
• Send opt-in newsletters or alerts (only if you sign up).

• We do not sell your personal information.
• We do not share your email with event organizers without your consent.
• We do not run third-party advertising networks or use advertising cookies.

We use Microsoft Clarity, a product-analytics service from Microsoft, to understand how visitors use the Service so we can improve it. Clarity collects usage data including session replays (recordings of interactions such as clicks, scrolls, and navigation), heatmaps, and aggregate usage metrics. Microsoft processes this data as our service provider; its use of the data is also governed by Microsoft’s Privacy Statement. We use this data to operate, debug, and improve the Service, not to sell it or to serve advertising.

To limit or opt out of analytics, you can use your browser’s privacy controls (for example, blocking cookies or third-party scripts) or a content blocker, and you can contact us to request that we exclude you from analytics.

ThatEventSite.com participates in affiliate programs - currently TicketNetwork via Impact.com. Some outbound ticket links are affiliate links, and we may earn a commission if you buy tickets after clicking them. This comes at no extra cost to you, and it never affects which events we show or how we rank them. Ticketmaster is a data source only and is not an affiliate; we do not earn affiliate revenue from Ticketmaster links. When you click an affiliate link, the affiliate network may set or read cookies to attribute the referral.

The Service relies on third-party providers who process limited data on our behalf:

• Vercel hosts the website and processes server logs.
• Supabase hosts the events database and stores submission records.
• Microsoft (Microsoft Clarity) provides product analytics (session replay, heatmaps, and aggregate usage metrics) and processes the associated usage data as our service provider. See the “Analytics” section above and Microsoft’s Privacy Statement.
• Stripe processes payments for paid features (such as venue subscriptions) and handles the associated billing data.
• Impact.com / TicketNetwork operate the affiliate program behind some outbound ticket links. See the “Affiliate links” section above.
• Viator (a Tripadvisor company) supplies the tours & experiences shown on our city and experience pages; booking completes on Viator and we may earn a commission on bookings made through those links.
• Ticketmaster, Eventbrite, and other event sources provide event data, which we display. Ticketmaster is also a ticketing partner: some outbound Ticketmaster links may be affiliate links on which we may earn a commission.

When you click a ticket link, you leave the Service and are subject to the privacy policy of the destination site.

• You can ask us to delete your submission and associated email by contacting us.
• You can disable cookies in your browser; the Service will still function.

We retain submission records and server logs for as long as needed to operate the Service or as required by law.

The Service is not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.

We may update this policy. Continued use of the Service after changes constitutes acceptance.
