A 250th Anniversary Celebration Program Wauwatosa: A Community Through Time demonstrates how American history develops locally. This illustrated program traces Wauwatosa’s growth from Indigenous life along the Menomonee River through settlement, civic development, industrial progress, and suburban spread. By examining how geography, transportation, and community decisions shaped the city, the program connects Wauwatosa’s story to Wisconsin’s shared civic heritage and the broader American experience, inviting reflection on the local roots of our national history. “American history unfolds one community at a time.” Presented by Rachael VerDuin. Rachael has been an active volunteer with the WHS for over three decades. She is a member of the Research and Education Committee, and currently focuses on preparing exhibits, researching special topics, and writing materials and presentations. You’ll also often see her being a docent for tours at the Kneeland-Walker House or for some of our events. Presentation will take place a the Wauwatosa Public Library in the Firefly Room. Doors open 30 minutes prior to the start of the presentation.
