The Derby City Dandies will perform on Sunday, August 2, at the Shrewsbury-Windle House National Historic Landmark at 301 W 1st St. The event also features a dessert plate, champagne, and other non-alcoholic beverages. One performance will be given at 3 pm. Only 25 tickets per performance are available to ensure a relaxed and elegant experience. The concert is sponsored by the Virginia Kerst Donor Advised Fund. Led by frontman Rick Quisol, the Derby City Dandies are a ukulele-driven jazz combo inspired by the spirit of the 1920s Jazz Age and the golden swing sounds of the 1930s. With vintage style, smooth vocals, and lively musicianship, the band captures the feel of a classic black-and-white film brought to life. From upbeat swing tunes to timeless standards, the Derby City Dandies bring energy, charm, and a touch of old-world sophistication to every event. The Shrewsbury-Windle House is imbued with musical tradition, and Historic Madison looks forward to welcoming musicians to the house once more. The Shrewsbury family hosted an orchestra for their 1849 housewarming party, and that tradition of live music continued with John and Ann Windle, who invited musician friends to the home many times. HMI is proud to carry on the musical legacy of the house. This is a 21+ event. Advanced registration is required. Parking is on city streets in a primarily residential neighborhood.
