Experience the world without leaving Summit Park during the Cultural Connections series, part of the Under the Canopy lineup. You and your family are invited to gather for free evenings filled with live music, performances and interactive programs that celebrate cultures from across the globe. Bring a chair or blanket and settle in under the Canopy as artists and performers share traditions, rhythms and stories that connect communities. Each event creates space for you to learn something new, explore global perspectives and celebrate the rich cultures that shape our region. Make a night of it. Grab a DORA beverage, pick up a to-go meal from one of Summit Park’s restaurants or unwind on a nearby patio before or after the show. Whether you come for the music, the movement or the cultural exploration, you’ll leave feeling more connected to the world around you. Performances, Dates and Times : Irish Heritage Performance | March 17 | 5–7:30 p.m. Celebrate Irish heritage at Summit Park with an evening of music and dance. The McGing Irish Dancers, a Cincinnati-area group, will perform from 5 to 5:30 p.m. Live music from the Trans-Am Euro Mutts Band follows from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m., featuring Irish and European-inspired songs under the Canopy. Cincinnati Opera Performance | May 1 | 6:30–8 p.m. Experience the power of live opera at Summit Park. Cincinnati Opera will perform a selection of classic arias and Broadway favorites under the Canopy. Hispanic Cultural Celebration | May 2 | 5–8 p.m. Join Summit Park for a celebration of Hispanic culture with dance and live music. Cincinnati Baila! Dance Academy will perform traditional folkloric dances from 5 to 5:30 p.m., showcasing colorful costumes and lively movement. Live music from Mambo Combo follows from 6 to 8 p.m., featuring Latin and Caribbean rhythms under the Canopy. Cultural Centre of India Performance | July 25 | 5–7:15 p.m. Experience the colors, music and traditions of India at Summit Park with the Cultural Centre of India. The event features high-energy Bollywood dance performances followed by an interactive art experience. Chinese Cultural Showcase | Aug. 15 | 2–4 p.m. Celebrate Chinese culture through music, dance and performance. The showcase includes dragon and lion dances, martial arts demonstrations, traditional music and folk dance, presented by the Alliance of Chinese Culture & Arts. Shakespeare in the Park | Aug. 28 | 7–9 p.m. Enjoy a live outdoor performance of "Much Ado About Nothing," presented by Cincinnati Shakespeare Company | Cincy Shakes. Relax under the Canopy for an evening of classic comedy. Japanese Taiko Drumming | Oct. 11 | 11 a.m.–12 p.m. Experience the powerful rhythms of traditional Wadaiko Gouken Japanese drumming. This dynamic performance blends thunderous percussion with synchronized movement for an exciting cultural showcase. The Cultural Connections series is supported by an ArtsWave Catalyzing Impact grant, helping bring diverse cultural experiences and performances to Summit Park throughout the season.
