Sacred Visions: Oru de Oro brings together pianist,composer Michele Rosewomans acclaimed New Yor Uba Ensemble and choreographer Danys La Mora Pérez Prades Oyu Oro Afro Cuban Dance Ensemble in a bold new collaboration. Rooted in Rosewoman expansive musical vision, her jazz infused suite Oru de Oro is brought vividly to life through La Moras visceral and deeply expressive choreography. This breathtaking dialogue between musicians and dancers draws inspiration from Yoruba ceremonial traditions uniting sacred rhythms, intricate composition and improvisation, powerful movement and vibrant storytelling.
