Recycling Sorting Social: Specialty Recycling & Waste Disposal with Hamilton County ReSource

What is this?

Join the Clifton Library, Crunchy Leaves Sustainability Collaborative, and Hamilton County ReSource to learn about recycling options in Cincinnati! This month, a representative from Hamilton County ReSource will teach us recycling basics and then dive deeper into how to safely dispose of hard-to-recycle household items and hazardous waste. Come with all your questions about what to do with those confusing items that shouldn’t go in the recycling bin, trash bin, or compost bin. After the presentation, we’ll sort our recyclables together! Bring up to one medium-sized bag of clean and dry items that can be recycled at the Cincinnati Recycling & Reuse Hub. To prepare ahead of time, use these links to determine what Rumpke takes for recycling and what can be taken to Cincinnati Recycling & Reuse Hub. We will help each other answer questions and learn together! After sorting, Crunchy Leaves volunteers will take the sorted items to the Hub. Unfortunately, we are not able to take items that aren’t clean and dry. Also, we will not accept the following items at this event, but they can be taken directly to the Hub: large pieces of styrofoam or metal, items for reuse, or fee-based items for recycling. We will not be taking any hazardous waste items, but you will learn where to take these during the event. Participants will be responsible for taking home any items that aren’t recyclable. Following these guidelines will make things easier for staff and volunteers at the library and the Hub!
