What is this?

DeGrazia Paints the Seri Indians and Ted DeGrazia’s Unseen Landscapes bring rare works out of storage and into public view for a limited time. Featuring paintings, watercolors, and drawings from the museum’s collection, these exhibitions include pieces shown publicly for the first time as well as works unseen for decades. In DeGrazia Paints the Seri Indians , visitors can explore more than a dozen works inspired by DeGrazia’s time with the Comcaac (Seri) people in coastal Sonora, Mexico. These drawings, watercolors, and oil paintings offer an intimate look at a culture the artist sought to record and honor. Ted DeGrazia’s Unseen Landscapes highlights DeGrazia’s enduring fascination with the Sonoran Desert and the places he encountered in his travels. The exhibition features watercolors, ink drawings, and oil paintings, some of which have remained out of public view for more than 70 years. Together, these limited-time exhibits offer a special chance to discover a different side of DeGrazia’s artistic legacy. During your visit, wander through the ethereal adobe architecture and verdant desert garden of this historic foothills property. Hand built by DeGrazia, the 10-acre site stands as a testament to his legacy of artistic brilliance and his genuine connection to the region’s history, culture, and scenery. From: 10:00 AM to 04:00 PM
