POT 08 - Intermediate Sculpting (Klapthor)
What is this?
This class will introduce students to the art of figure sculpting through a variety of forms including human, animal, and even imaginary. Early projects in the class will focus on details of our figures like faces and hands as we learn about basic structure and anatomy. Later projects will combine these details into full figure sculptures with poses and expressions that tell their own stories. Projects will all be guided by the instructor, but individual styles are also highly encouraged. NOTE: This class does NOT use live models. For all virtual and onsite Pottery classes, the tuition includes a $98 pass-through supply fee, which covers the cost of one bag of stoneware, raku, or Lizella earthenware clay (first bags of porcelain are available for an additional $5 cost), glazes, and 2,000 cubic inches of firing space. The supply fee does NOT include tools, students provide their own tools. Additional clay and tools may be purchased from the studio (credit card only). All work fired at Callanwolde must be produced in the Pottery Program studios (no outside work allowed).
