What is this?

Cincinnati's comedy and live music scenes collide at The Comet every Saturday this summer, from July 11 to Aug. 29, for an audience-powered showdown. Fifty-six comedians compete, and you decide who advances. Each week, six rookie and three veteran comedians take the stage to battle for your votes and the judges' scores. Weekly winners receive $50, a future Bombs Away! booking and a spot in the finals. On July 18, rookie comedians Laila Ammar, Dave Chambers, Katie Gayer, Juan Minera and Skippy Rose join veteran comedians Harrison Butler, Alex Leeds and Jimmy Medin in the competition. Detroit comedian Kyle Forsyth headlines the evening with his high-energy performances, personal storytelling and irreverent humor. Forsyth co-founded the Motor City Comedy Festival and recently recorded his debut comedy special, "Single Mother." He has shared the stage with Ian Fidance, Jessica Kirson, Erik Griffin and the late Brody Stevens. After the laughs, enjoy live music from Zapruder Point, Maria, Etc. and Tremolo Fields, along with The Comet's famous burritos.
