Iconic Starfighters: Rivals of the Silver Screen
What is this?
Visitors to the National Museum of the U.S. Air Force™ will be able to experience Iconic Starfighters: Rivals of the Silver Screen beginning May 22, when the temporary exhibit opens in the Museum’s fourth building special exhibit space. The display features two full-scale, fan-created spacecraft inspired by some of the most recognizable designs from the silver screen. Visitors will have the opportunity to view the craftsmanship and detail involved in bringing science fiction-inspired designs to life. The exhibit offers a unique opportunity to explore how aviation history continues to shape the way flight is imagined on screen. Iconic Starfighters: Rivals of the Silver Screen will be on display through Dec. 31, 2026. This temporary exhibit is part of a private collection, on loan from the Center of Science and Industry (COSI), with funding support from the Air Force Museum Foundation. The full-scale recreations were created by FireWatch Design Studios. Iconic Starfighters features fan-created recreations inspired by the Star Wars franchise.
