What is this?
Join historian Matthew Smith as he reflects on Peck's Addition, home to Miami Hamilton since 1968. Once a port of entry for Appalachian migrants, Peck's Addition welcomed countless families from Kentucky drawn to booming manufacturers such as Champion Paper and Fisher Body Works. This talk covers the colorful rise and fall of this historic neighborhood, from its founding in the 1870s and the Great Flood of 1913, through the heyday of industrial Hamilton and its long decline and neglect. Find out why Peck's Addition was so central to the story of Hamilton, how its history is still being remembered, and what the future holds in store. No RSVP is required.
